About This Series

The Trust Factor

April 2024 - May 2024

On the topic of relational health there’s no book like the Bible. Its stories and instruction are honest about our constant propensity to royally mess up, but it’s also a narrative of hope for restoring healthy, mutually life-giving relationships. In this series we’ll explore the topics of Trust, Forgiveness, Reconciliation, and Rebuilding Trust. We’ll unpack the unique elements of each of these and how they lead to healthier relationships and offer the possibility…but not the promise…of restored human relationships.

April 6/7 – May 4/5, 2024
In-person Saturdays at 6 pm and Sundays at 10 am. Online and on-demand @spac.ca and YouTube

The Foundation of Healthy Relationships

The Foundation of Healthy Relationships

April 07, 2024

Trust in God is foundational to all healthy relationships. Because of God’s unconditional love, he is always trustworthy; however, unconditional love doesn’t equate unconditional relationship…even with God. That said, reconciliation and rebuilding trust are possible in a context of mutuality.

Fractures & Forgiveness

Fractures & Forgiveness

April 14, 2024
If you’re going to be healthy, you have to forgive, and as believers we’ve received forgiveness and are called to extend it. Forgiveness frees the one wronged and opens the possibility of future relationship but in no way guarantees it.
Fractures & Reconciliation

Fractures & Reconciliation

April 21, 2024
Reconciliation is at the heart of the gospel message. God’s story is one of repaired relationship, but even with God relationship is a mutual thing. There is no reconciliation without repentance, and reconciliation doesn’t always mean trust is restored.
Fractures & Rebuilding

Fractures & Rebuilding

April 28, 2024
It’s possible for trust to be rebuilt, especially in the context of Christian community. But trust is earned, not assumed, and building trust is often a long process. The goal is that as believers we are all becoming more and more trustworthy, creating a community of belonging and safety.
When to Withhold It & What Can Be Learned

When to Withhold It & What Can Be Learned

May 04, 2024
There are times when giving trust is not wise. Broken trust needs repair and often the bigger the rupture the longer the path of healing and repair…and at times repair isn’t possible. We can always trust our Heavenly Father and extend and receive forgiveness, even when reconciliation and a repaired relationship of trust doesn’t always happen.
