Compassion Partners

Our Compassion Partners

We partner with many local organizations in various ways, from prayer to participation to financial support. Our goal is always to engage in respectful and compassionate collaboration to address and meet the needs of those in our communities.

Compassion Assistance The Compassion Fund exists to serve those in financial need, both within our congregation and in the wider community. There’s a clear process for requesting support, and guidelines in place to make sure the fund is used responsibly and for the kinds of needs it’s designed to address.

A large part of this fund is used every week to help people who walk through our doors needing immediate assistance. Beyond these urgent needs, the Compassion Fund also sustains many of SPAC’s Outreach initiatives, making it a significant part of how we engage and serve our city.

The Pregnancy Care Centre offers free and confidential support to individuals facing an unexpected pregnancy. Their team provides compassionate guidance, accurate information, and practical resources in a safe, non-judgmental environment. Through coaching, education, and connection to ongoing supports, they walk alongside clients as they navigate their next steps. We partner with the Pregnancy Care Centre because their work reflects our shared commitment to dignity, care, and hope for every person and family. As part of this partnership, we help stock their pantry so women are welcomed with a warm drink, a filling snack, and a sense of care from the moment they arrive.

Our involvement with the Strathcona County Ministerial has led to new connections with Family and Community Services here in Sherwood Park. It has been a great way to have their staff become aware of the assistance we can provide both financially and relationally through various programs at Sherwood Park Alliance. These partnerships allow us to direct a significant portion of funds from the Compassion Fund towards a ministry which meets people in seasons of transition before they turn into seasons of long-term crisis due to lack of safe and affordable housing.
